Troubleshooting
This section addresses frequently asked questions and common issues users might encounter while using Daito.
If you don't find a solution here, please get in touch with your organisation's Daito administrator or our support team for further assistance at [email protected] or from the chat icon at the bottom right corner of the website.
1. I've created my Daito account, but I don't see any 2FA accounts.
You've successfully signed up for Daito within your organisation, but your dashboard appears empty, and you can't see any shared 2FA accounts.
This typically means your organisation's Daito administrator hasn't yet assigned you access to any accounts or groups. You'll need to contact your organisation's administrator directly. They will be able to grant you the necessary permissions and send you an invitation to join specific groups or access particular 2FA tokens.
If you are an organisation admin, you need to add accounts first. You can find more information in this documentation.
2. I can't log in to Daito.
If you're having trouble accessing your Daito account.
Check your credentials: Double-check that you are entering the correct email address and password.
Reset password: If you've forgotten your password, use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to initiate a password reset.
Contact your admin: If the issue persists, your organisation's Daito administrator can verify your account status or assist with login issues.
3. I don't know how to add different services to Daito.
You're unsure how to onboard your existing external accounts (e.g., social media, email, cloud services) into Daito for 2FA management.
Daito supports 2FA from a vast array of online services. To find specific setup instructions for the service you're looking for, please check our 2FA Directory. This directory provides guides on how to enable 2FA for popular applications. Once you've enabled 2FA for your external account and received the QR code or secret key, refer to the "Adding Accounts" section within our documentation for detailed steps on importing these into Daito.
4. The 2FA code I'm using from Daito isn't working.
You're copying a 2FA code from Daito, but the external service (e.g., Google, Facebook) is rejecting it.
Check your device time: The most common reason for invalid 2FA codes is a time synchronisation issue. Ensure the device you are using to access Daito (your computer, tablet, etc.) has its time, date, and timezone set to automatically synchronise with internet time servers.
Try again quickly: TOTP codes are time-sensitive and typically refresh every 30 seconds. Make sure you're copying and pasting the code promptly before it expires.
Contact your admin: If the issue persists, it's possible the 2FA on the external service might need to be re-synced or re-added. Your organisation's Daito administrator can investigate this.
You believe a 2FA account should be available in Daito, but you can't locate it.
Use the search function: Daito has a search bar. Try typing in part of the account name or associated service.
Check your groups: Ensure you are looking within the correct groups that you have access to.
Contact your admin: If you still can't find it, the account may not have been added to Daito yet, or you might not have been granted access to it. Your organisation's Daito administrator can confirm its status.
6. I'm getting an "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" when trying to access Daito.
Your browser displays an "ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR" or similar secure connection error when you try to visit the Daito website.
In some rare cases, certain Internet Service Providers (ISPs), particularly those that use technologies like "Comcast Xfinity" or "Rogers Xfinity" with "Advanced Security" features, can inadvertently block access to secure websites, including Daito.
This happens because their security features may misidentify legitimate connections (like those using Cloudflare, which Daito and many other SaaS companies utilise) as threats.
Check your ISP's security features: Look for a "security" or "advanced security" setting within your ISP's app or online portal (e.g., "Comcast Xfinity app" or "Rogers Xfinity app").
Review blocked sites/alerts: See if Daito.io or Cloudflare-related addresses are listed as blocked or flagged in your ISP's security logs.
Consider temporarily disabling security: While we cannot recommend disabling security features, some users have found that temporarily deactivating this "Advanced Security" feature for their network, or specifically whitelisting Daito.io, resolves the issue. (Please consult your ISP's support documentation for guidance on these settings.)
Try a different network: Accessing Daito from a different internet connection (e.g., mobile data, a different Wi-Fi network) can help confirm if the issue is indeed related to your home network provider.
This specific issue has been observed with providers rolling out similar security technologies. While we cannot directly control third-party ISP configurations, these pointers may help you troubleshoot the problem from your end.
